Lit Loot
This is a program for Middle and High School Students. Middle School Students may request a Lit Loot Bag once per semester and High School Students, once per quarter. It consists of a book curated to their genre preferences and other items such as bookmarks, pens, pencils, fidgets, keychains, socks, notebooks, etc. Students are asked to review their Lit Loot items and their book in order to receive Lit Loot the following semester or quarter. This program is funded by the family of Harley Dunkin and a grant from the Missouri Retired Teachers Foundation.

The roots of Missouri's agricultural industry stretches over more than 3,000 years. It is an industry and a way of life for many Missourians. "Deeply Rooted" takes visitors on a journey through time and connects them to the past, present and future of farming in the state.

Battle of the Books Partcipants Attend 2024 UCM Children's Literature Festival
Twenty-four of our Battle of the Books participants attended the 2024 Children's Literature Festival at UCM. The authors we were able to hear speak this year were Rob Buyea, Adib Khorram, Pablo Cartaya, Karina Yan Glaser and Mary Downing Hahn. It was a great learning experience for everyone!
February Blind Date
With a Book

Students were challenged to read a book without seeing its cover during the month of February. Each bag contained a post it with a small clue as to what the book was about from the book only. Many students discovered a new favorite book or even a favorite author.
