About me

My name is Christa Bell and I am the Library Media Specialist for Lafayette County C-1 Middle and High School. I have been teaching for 21 years and have been with the district for 19 as either a classroom teacher, teacher of the gifted, or the Library Media Specialist.
I am here to actively provide resources that support and enhance the school's curriculum, which will challenge and empower our students to be successful users of information. These resources reflect the students, faculty, and staff's educational, cultural, and recreational information needs. I love continuing to learn and am always looking for new ideas and ways to meet our students' needs!
I am actively involved in the Missouri Association of School Librarians. I am a member of our local chapter CRASL (Central Region Association of School Librarians) and am the current Vice President. I serve on the State Truman Committee as Vice Chair, the MASL Program Standards Task Force, and the MASL Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee. This year I am also in a new cohort called MO're Leaders. Our focus this year is developing tools to help new Library Media Specialists. I am also a member of AASL, ALA, and MLA.
